Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny is a joint venture between KAMAZ and Federal Mogul Corporation (USA) for manufacture of parts for cylinder-piston group.

The enterprise produces pistons, liners, piston rings and other parts for engines of trucks, road and off-road vehicles.

In 2018, the management of Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny approached Laser Center with the task of modernizing two of its sites:

At the first site:

  1. We replaced the out-of-order diode-pumped solid-state laser of a European manufacturer with a modern fiber laser marking system of TurboMarker series.
  2. Coordinated the work of the new system with Z-axis movement system.
  3. Configured the correct exchange of signals of the new laser system with the feed and ring control systems.
  4. Ensured the safe operation of the equipment.

The marked items are made of steel and coated steel.

Ensured the specified productivity - 2 sec/piece, about 20 thousand items per shift.

At the second site:

  1. Integrated the automated laser marking system of TurboMarker series into the production line.
  2. Installed and synchronized the part tracking system, pneumatic system, and security systems with the operation of the laser system.
  3. Ensured uninterrupted operation of entire laser marking complex 24/7.

The marked items are made of steel.

Integration of the laser system and automation of the process increased the productivity of this site to 5-10 sec/piece, 6-8 thousand items per shift. Before the automation of the labeling process, the productivity was about 1,000 items per shift.
